This year, Dopper launched an international movement to generate awareness about the problem of single-use plastics flooding our oceans every day. We launched this initiative through an online campaign in social media, website/display ads and PR comms to raise awareness and invited individuals, organizations and brands to join the fight for the oceans.

This is a call to arms for all ocean lovers, to become a drop and form a wave to wash away this global issue.

The launch

 

On June 8 the Dopper Wave was launched, airing a brand video with inspiring stories of 8 ocean-saving heroes that are making an impact in their communities.

To join the wave, we asked people to take 4 simple steps:
1. Ban single-use plastic water bottles.
2. Drink from the tap whenever you can.
3. Always bring your own reusable bottle.
4. Encourage others to join the Dopper wave too.

The movement was kicked-off on World Ocean's Day (June 8th). During the weeks before we created content to build anticipation and awareness within our community and partners.

A set of teaser videos announced our biggest campaign yet.

During the following days (and coming months) we turned our Instagram feed into a wall of fame with images of influencers and partners that joined the wave but also integrating it with the brand video. The images not only reflected their commitment but also addressed the excuses we all make when it comes to do their part for the oceans.

 

We directed the traffic and all our communication to Dopper's website, where they could sign the pledge against single-use water bottles, join the wave and upload their picture to get a Dopper wave filter.

Animated gifs were created from the video to generate content and to be shared online.
